This project is about the emotional pressure and anxiety that many students face when graduating and stepping into society. It focuses on the feeling of liminality — being in between two identities, no longer a student, not yet fully part of the adult world.
The object is a handmade telephone, shaped from aged copper wire with a ceramic base, placed on an old wooden desk. It connects to an AI system that allows the user to talk with an AI, representing a talk to oneself. This setup creates a private and reflective moment, like a small ritual, where users can process their thoughts, hear them back, and slowly build a clearer sense of who they are becoming.
Through this process, the work offers a way to deal with change, to speak with the self, and to find emotional grounding during uncertain times.
