LOOP is a 16-page zine that I created in my first unit, containing six short comics about how to get along with ruin spaces. All the comics were made with the technique of hard-ground etching. In this project, I noticed a similar fascination with ruins in different periods of human history and took the nowadays subcultural community of ruin explorers as the starting point. I paid attention to the rich associations derived from ruins as a motif, especially the connection between ruins and power, and also the enlightenment brought by ruins' modern monumental values. To experience the way of seeing and understanding the world from an urban explorer's vision, I chose investigator as my position, conducted a series of onsite primary research in real ruin spaces, and collected all the observation logs into a comic zine in the follow-up practical explorations.
