Summary

Final work

My work is driven by curiosity and experimentation for the past, present and future. I am constantly exploring new techniques to communicate ideas, moving forward through creative swings. Balancing the serious and the playful, I investigate gendered perspectives and social contexts, aiming to create conceptually engaging designs that challenge expectations while striving towards technical excellence.

This project is a satirical critique of corporate culture and the contradictions of capitalism, grounded in personal memory and broader social observation. Growing up between cities like Los Angeles and New York, I was exposed to the tension between glamor and decay, where billionaires and the homeless coexist and financial ambition masks existential ruin. Modern society worships capitalistic success, yet it is a game that very few can win, fueled by a culture of self-deception, and burnout. Drawing from pseudo-feminist films like Working Girl , candid street photography, and political satire, I explored the absurdity of professional performance, especially from a female perspective. My final garment blends the rigid structure of power dressing with an intentionally awkward and playful sensibility, subverting traditional ideas of authority, gender, and affluence. This work is both silly and serious, a wearable commentary on the unachievable dream that we all try to chase.
