A Sudden Glance is a work that emphasises the ritual of entering the space, where the viewer has to open the window to enter the exhibition space behind them. The fan keeps swinging its head and blowing the lace curtains, which gives the work a fluidity and emphasises a certain nostalgic sense of the scene.

Research and process

This is the processes of my final work One Half. About a third of the way through my life, I realised that my thoughts were becoming more and more chaotic, cloudy and uncertain, and that everything and everyone around me was flowing like a river, except for me, who stayed in place like an unwieldy stone. It was also at this moment that I realised that I should communicate more with myself, reconcile with myself and understand myself. So I wanted to make a set of sculptures to remind me of the importance of embracing myself.
