Hallucination/ Memory/ Déjà vu

YUMIN TSENG

Summary

Final work

Hello, I'm Yu Min Tseng from Taiwan. I explore the fluid relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit. Inspired by both bustling streets and quiet alleyways, I document fleeting moments through photography and sketching, capturing how the built environment and human experience continuously shape one another.

Hallucination and memory blend, so sometimes, the scenario is déjà vu.

Hallucination and memory blur in my sunken water park by Regent’s Canal, where fabric roofs cast dreamlike shadows into reflective pools. Inspired by fading childhood memories of my demolished hometown, I studied canals, nature, and spatial balance. I wove soft mesh roofs and gridded walls echoing brick patterns, recreating the déjà vu of playing under traditional rooftops. This immersive space welcomes joggers, children, and dogs, blending memory, ecology, and light.
