Under Control explores how traditional Chinese food therapy can help modern individuals manage emotional stress. Inspired by personal experiences with herbal remedies and sensory healing, the project studies how texture, taste, and visual aesthetics influence emotional regulation. Through workshops, material testing, and visual exploration, I developed a recipe book that presents edible materials not just as food, but as multisensory experiences. The book combines soothing color palettes, tactile elements, and poetic typography to encourage mindful interaction and reflection. By translating the ancient concept of “food as medicine” into a contemporary design context, Under Control aims to reconnect young audiences with traditional health wisdom and inspire new ways to understand emotional balance through design.
Final work

Under Control Recipe Book
In this book, I try to transforms the act of eating into a tactile dialogue with emotion. Blending Chinese medicinal food culture and sensory design, it invites you to pause, touch, and taste the quiet balance within.

Bookmark
I also made some bookmarks with different scents, the scents depending on the element on the bookmarks.
