This project is inspired by street skateboarding and the spirit behind it — the idea of falling over, getting hurt, but always standing back up and continuing to ride. I was drawn to that sense of resilience and wanted to translate it into clothing that captures both movement and recovery.

Most of my design development was done through draping. I experimented with fabric to mimic how the body twists and folds during a fall. The distortions that appeared — especially around facings and lapels — became the foundation of my patterns. I used denim because it’s a fabric I personally love: strong, durable, and comfortable. It naturally connects to the idea of abrasion, endurance, and toughness, which fits the theme perfectly.

Through repeated fittings and small adjustments, I refined each piece while keeping the rawness I aimed for. I focused on topstitching, contrast seams, and raw edges — especially the frayed hem in Look 2 — to highlight the rough, honest quality of denim and give a street-inspired, unpolished finish. This project is about embracing imbalance, and finding beauty in the imperfect process of getting back up.
