# Project Description Threefold Yuchen Han Summary Final work College Chelsea College of Arts Course MA Textile Design Graduation year 2024 'Threefold' is a new concept in functional egg packaging that is portable, storable and reusable. In many Asian countries, egg producers sell eggs directly to consumers at retail. Farmers sell eggs of different types, sizes and colours in different baskets at markets. Compared to factory-processed boxed eggs, retail eggs would be cheaper, fresher, and freer to pick and choose. However, plastic bags are not sufficient for retail egg packaging. This project was inspired by the traditional egg packaging design of China's Yunnan Province. Using a foldable knitted design, the project blends natural fiber flax yarn with Yunnan Dai patterns and colors to create a retail egg packaging that is portable and storable. Through the flexibility of foldable knitting, the stability of the three-dimensional geometric structure, and the antimicrobial properties of the natural fiber, the problems of functionality and sustainability of packaging are solved, providing an innovative concept for the diversification of foldable knitting structures and packaging design.
