STILL

Yuan-Chi Lee

Summary

Final work

London-based designer, rooted in Taiwan.

It reflects a quiet dialogue between tradition and modernity, where digital processes meet contemplative craft.

Yuan-Chi’s upbringing was imbued with ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement. These fleeting encounters blossomed into five years of devoted study, inspiring her designs to embody the serene tension of water. She draws inspiration from rain chains and water gutters – vessels that momentarily hold fluidity – shaping metal into wearable, vase-like forms that hold droplets of water through hand making and 3D printing. Yuan-Chi has created a collection that combines art and function, an echo of mono no aware, the beauty of the ephemeral.
