My project proposes to revitalise King's Cross' muted built environment through fusing architecture and textiles in order to redesign two structures in the aim of creating a striking yet visually engaging space. The patterns used are inspired by traditional Eritrean clothing to publicly display its bold and vibrant culture while also diversifying London’s architecture in a visible way. Additionally, the original structures have been altered to include bridges and pathways so as to improve and encourage movement within and between buildings. These changes were made with the hopes of fostering an environment that would prove to be both inviting and entertaining in Granary Square.
