People often don’t have the chance to fully express who they really are. In many cultures, parents’ expectations strongly influence how their children dress, act, and make life decisions. As a result, their true feelings and identity are often hidden. When society, family, and traditions become invisible rules, how can someone’s real self break free? This art project looks at the difference between the “expected self” shaped by parental pressure and the “true self” that appears after pushing back. It explores questions about identity, freedom, and the limits set by social norms.
