# Project Description Underground Reading Yiwei Li Summary Final work From the most intimate space to public sphere, my work explores the situation of individual and its connection with other/Other. I hope to portray the discourse between the individual and the collective spectacle with the concept of language, gaze, visage and memory. In addition to museum and gallery, I explore possible places to present my works and performances, such as authoritative buildings, cemetery, public transportation and the cyber world. College Chelsea College of Arts Course MA Fine Art Graduation year 2023 Underground Reading extracts texts from posters and billboards found in the London Underground and strips away their original color and typography. By reprinting these slogans onto 735 sheets of paper and creating a wall of text, it tries to challenge and subvert the original function of the advertisement, to reveal the passive consumption of information and its mental pollution in the public sphere.
