The collection explores the tension between gender, authority, and personal identity through the lens of power dressing. Inspired by my mother’s experience working under rigid corporate dress codes in a Japanese company, the collection deconstructs the traditional suit—a symbol of control and professionalism—through the eyes of a male designer creating womenswear. Each look reflects a nuanced response to societal expectations: neither overtly masculine nor submissively feminine, but suspended in an in-between space. Structured tailoring, interrupted seams, and shifts in proportion embody the struggle to conform, resist, and reclaim agency through clothing.
