# Project Description Shellēve Xinnuo Du Summary Final work Xinnuo is a forward-thinking product and biodesigner passionate about biomaterials research. Her recent work explores the intersection of ecology, material innovation, and the body. Her latest project transforms discarded seashells into biodegradable wearable nail jewellery, reimagining marine waste as a medium for expression. Inspired by ocean pollution and the silent waste of seashells, Shellēve transforms marine biowaste into biodegradable, removable nail accessories. Each piece embodies the quiet resilience of marine life, reflecting the textures, colors and rhythms of the sea. Born from the memory of growing up by the sea, this project honors discarded shells—once protectors of marine life—as symbols of renewal. From pollution to adornment, from waste to wonder—this project invites us to wear our care for the planet, right at our fingertips. Pollution—particularly plastic waste and chemical runoff—has disrupted marine biodiversity, leaving behind a fragile and fragmented world. As marine life struggles to adapt, their delicate existence tells a story of resilience and loss.
