Xin Ren was born in Chongqing, China in 1996, and now lives and works in Shanghai. She received a Bachelor's degree in Digital Media and Technology from Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai and an MA degree in Painting from the University of the Arts London.

Her works have participated in the 'Ascertain' group exhibition at Espacio Gallery in London(2024), 'Where We’re Calling From' group exhibition at Copeland Gallery in London (2024), and the UAL MA Show in London (2024).

My art practice centers on themes of women, the body, clothing, and power. By delving into the physical and psychological pain and struggle women experience, I aim to explore a femininity that is both filled with tension and allure. The deconstruction and reconstruction in modern fashion design allows me to closely observe the distinct tensions present in femininity. In this project, I used the corset as a central theme to convey the allure of the tension created by the contradictory dualities inherent in femininity.
