# Project Description Tsampaism - Jiangtse Baogyi Bless You Xibao Jiang Summary Final work I am Xibao Jiang, a jewellery designer with a deep interest in niche subcultures and contemporary art. My work is rooted in narrative, interaction, religion, critique, and satire. Over the years, I have consistently explored religious symbolism, cultural ritual, and fringe belief systems. College London College of Fashion Course BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery Graduation year 2025 Tsampaism is a religion based on wealth and spiritual upliftment, with a belief centred on the idea of demonstrating the purity of the soul and the depth of faith through wealth. Devotees express their piety by flaunting wealth and engaging in unique lifestyle rituals, believing that these outward expressions lead to inner transcendence and spiritual elevation. The sole god of this religion is Jiangtse Baogyi, considered the embodiment of wealth, prosperity, and soul elevation. “Tsampaism: Jiangtse Baogyi Bless You” is an art project themed around the satire of consumerism, inspired by my long-standing interest in religious symbolism, niche subcultures, and social critique. Through the creation of a fictional belief system, I explored how jewellery can serve as a medium for satire and storytelling, revealing phenomena such as consumerism, identity construction, and the deification of ordinary individuals—a concept particularly evident in idol worship within religion and culture. To amplify its absurdity, I incorporated AI-generated images and texts, aiming to create a surreal tension between reality and imagination. By satirising the process of mythologising wealth and power, I sought to blur the lines between worship, authority, and performative grandeur, challenging the underlying logic and impact of these phenomena. This project does not aim to attract actual followers but instead seeks to provoke reflection among viewers: are their consumption habits driven by genuine needs, or are they merely conforming to societal expectations of "success" and "identity"? Final work Toe Greeting Ring In Tsampaism, devotees meet with each other using the ‘toe greeting’ as a unique form of greeting. Two people keep an arm’s length away from each other, then simultaneously raise their right feet and gently touch each other’s toes with their toes. After touching, each takes a step back and whispers, ‘Laicai’. Ceremony Ring During all major religious ceremonies, the leader must wear an exceptionally large and golden diamond ring as a symbol of divine wealth, supreme status, and spiritual authority. This ring with its dazzling brilliance and intricate design, not only represents authority but also inspiring devotees to seek both material and spiritual elevation. Jiangtse Baogyi Mask Jiangtse Baogyi Mask is a scared food in Great Tsampaism. Every Monday at noon, devotees must consume a Jiangtse Baogyi Mask in an outdoor or public setting, using the designated ceremonial cutlery provided by Tsampaism. The dining process must last two full hours, during which the sacred flavors are to be savored with reverence, mindfulness. All devoted members must use specially crafted cutlery provided by Tsampaism, when consuming Jiangtse Baogyi mask.These designated cutlery symbolize respect for Jiangtse Baogyi and devotion to the sacred teachings. The use of unapproved cutlery is considered a desecration of holy traditions.
