Keeper of the Pond

We are currently deemed to be in a sixth extinction, the Holocene Period, induced by mankind. Through this animation I sought to express the cycle of the these periods - a cycle of life, death and regeneration. I sought to express this through the contrast of an environment in its two states: devoid of life, expressed through 2D black and white; and abundant of life, expressed through 3D sculpting, stressing the difference in two realities we are currently faced with - to put in the effort to protect what life we have left, or to succumb, as nature will restore itself with or without us.
