Wenqi's jewellery designs originate from a profound exploration of the intrinsic nature of transparent materials. The inspiration comes from the reflection effect of light and the morphological plasticity of water. By deconstructing the dynamic aesthetics of water droplets and combining light-transmitting materials such as resin and glass with precision-engineered structures, she creats jewellery that offers versatile wearing possibilities. Her works allow observers to preceive the interplay of light and shadow from multiple perspectives. Her transparent jewels become a medium to explore the relationship between environment and individual, transforming adornment into a dynamic dialogue with spatial context.

Final work

Round transparent resin Brooch with glass beads and zirconia

Water drop mapping

Transparent resin brooch with glass beads and zirconia. The deformed zircon can be seen through the glass ball, and the distance between the lower and upper resin parts of the brooch also better presents the visual effect of more zircon.

The drip-shaped brooch shows the dynamic aesthetics of water。

Dropping Brooch

The drip-shaped brooch shows the dynamic aesthetics of water, and the regularly arranged glass beads inside also create a different visual effect.

Half of the glass ball is inside the resin, and the other half is exposed outside, creating an effect of a water droplet being wrapped in water and va

Waterdrop ear cuff

Half of the glass ball is inside the resin, and the other half is exposed outside, creating an effect of a water droplet being wrapped in water and vaguely exposed.

Research and process

Use the principles of light refraction and spherical lenses to explore the arrangement of glass/acrylic ball.

Use the principles of light refraction and spherical lenses to explore the arrangement of glass/acrylic balls. By changing the height of the spherical object, observe how the objects and environment seen through it change according to the distance.
