# Project Description

Iron Women

Weining Wang

Summary

Final work

This collection is inspired by my grandmother and explores the untold stories of women from her generation. It looks back to China in the 1940s and the early years of social transformation, examining how “steel women” of that era found ways to live as themselves. The lived experiences of women and the weight of their historical context are translated into a language of clothing.

She was a member of China’s first all-female motorcycle team., She was also one of the earliest female representatives to take part in public affairs.In a world dominated by men, she did not wait for permission — she pushed past limits through action.On the surface, she was quiet and silence . But inside, she was resilient and unbreakable.

Her life is the thread of this project. Through her story, we explore how strength and tenderness can exist together in female power.
