Suit Yourself is an interactive educational book made for teenagers who are exploring identity and self-expression through clothing. The project looks at how androgyny has influenced women’s tailoring and how traditional masculine styles have been reimagined to celebrate freedom, individuality, and confidence.
By blending fashion history with modern design, the book makes complex ideas accessible and visual. Through illustrations, timelines, and creative activities, Suit Yourself encourages young readers to experiment with style, learn about influential women who reshaped fashion, and see clothing as a tool for empowerment. It connects the past and present, showing how tailoring continues to evolve as a space for creativity and self-discovery.

Suit Yourself is a 7 by 9 inch soft cover book with a half Canadian spiral binding along the left edge, allowing it to lay completely flat when open. The soft cover gives it a tactile and approachable feel, like a mix between a sketchbook, a diary, and a notebook, making it practical to carry around. The spiral binding makes the pages easy to flip through, encouraging hands-on interaction and creativity, while the compact size makes it portable and personal. The overall design reflects the book’s purpose to feel inviting, accessible, and expressive, bridging education and self-discovery in a way that feels familiar, like something made to be used, not just read.
