Summary

Final work

My work explores the intersection of tradition and technology, blending artisanal craftsmanship with contemporary digital techniques to create intricate, emotive textile prints. Drawing inspiration from memory, nature, and heritage, I craft designs that evoke nostalgia and elevate everyday luxury.

I work extensively with both digital and traditional print methodologies. Utilising industry-standard software such as the Adobe Suite and AVA, I develop refined digital prints that merge precision with fluidity.

Simultaneously, I incorporate traditional techniques like lino cut and block printing, infusing my work with depth, texture, and a tactile sense of artistry. Hand painting remains a vital part of my creative process, allowing me to translate organic forms and expressive brushstrokes into timeless patterns.

Sustainability is at the core of my practice. I prioritize the use of natural and luxurious materials like modal silk, cotton and linen - ensuring that my home and fashion textiles uphold both aesthetic and ethical values.

My swimwear collections incorporate recycled and repurposed polyester, aligning with a commitment to responsible fashion without compromising on elegance and functionality. I also enjoy experimenting with natural dyeing and using this method in my work. This conscious approach allows me to celebrate craftsmanship while contributing to a more sustainable industry.

'KAI', MEANING OCEAN IN HAWAIIAN, SERVES AS THE CORE INSPIRATION FOR MY FINAL MAJOR PROJECT. ROOTED IN PERSONAL MEMORY, THE COLLECTION DRAWS FROM MY FATHER'S ARCHIVAL PHOTOGRAPHS OF OUR FIRST TRIP TO HAWAII, EVOKING BOTH NOSTALGIA AND ESCAPISM.

THIS SPRING/SUMMER CONCEPT COMPRISES TWO DISTINCT YET INTERCONNECTED LINES:

ECLIPSED MEMORIES', A RESORT AND SWIMWEAR COLLECTION, AND

'MOONLIT TIDES', A LOUNGEWEAR AND BEACHSIDE INTERIOR COLLECTION.

UNITED BY LARGE-SCALE FLORAL PRINTS AND ABSTRACT OCEANIC TEXTURES, EACH PIECE IS THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED TO REFLECT THE MOODS AND TRANSITIONS OF A HOLIDAY. THE COLLECTION OFFERS A FULL VACATION WARDROBE-FROM BREEZY SWIMWEAR TO ELEVATED LOUNGEWEAR, AND EVEN BESPOKE PRINTS FOR INTERIORS, SUCH AS UPHOLSTERY AND WALLPAPER. WITH KAI, THE GOAL WAS TO CREATE AN IMMERSIVE, VERSATILE HOLIDAY LIFESTYLE COLLECTION THAT BLENDS EMOTIONAL STORYTELLING WITH FUNCTIONAL ELEGANCE.
