# Project Description Hang in Chair 13800 Torntum Phophientong Summary Final work College Chelsea College of Arts Course BA (Hons) Product and Furniture Design Graduation year 2025 "The Hang-In Chair is inspired by the nautical aesthetics and sailing culture found along London’s canals, where life on narrowboats reflects a fast-paced and adaptive lifestyle. Just as sails respond to shifting winds, this chair embodies a sense of fluidity and resilience. Designed with stigma-aware principles in mind, it reimagines the sensory chairs often used by neurodivergent individuals—transforming a typically medical-looking object into a sculptural piece that complements both home interiors and outdoor settings, such as yacht clubhouses. Its soft, rounded curves offer a friendly, inviting presence, while the sail-like seat is crafted from recycled materials collected along the UK coast, reinforcing a commitment to sustainability."
