This project investigates the tension between wanting and needing within a culture of overconsumption through exaggerated contrasts in silhouette and colour. Drawing from minimalism and nomadic lifestyles, it questions how many belongings are truly necessary in contemporary life. Voluminous garments are compressed beneath tailored jackets and translucent knits, creating sculptural pressure points that visualise the weight of excess. Layered pieces accumulate like material desires, while fabric choices express the push-pull between abundance and restraint. The collection ultimately transitions from exaggerated abundance to a distilled set of essentials, revealing a gradual shift from desire toward true necessity.
