Course MA Photography

Graduation year 2025

Teng Wanning (b. 2002, China) is a London-based artist currently studying MA Photography at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. Working across photography, moving image, and installation, her practice explores urbanization, impermanence, and the fragility of memory. She often draws inspiration from everyday encounters, transforming them into poetic reflections on perception and disappearance.

Final work

When Petals Fall

When Petals Fall

These photographs show decaying and melting flowers, representing the slow disappearance of time, emotion, and memory. The work draws on Buddhist ideas of shunyata (emptiness) and the Japanese aesthetic of mono no aware(aesthetic appreciation of impermanence). In my work, I want to show the process of the death of the flower. The images dissolve, blur, and fade until we can no longer see them. Photography becomes a way to witness death and vanishing, and to discover the fragile beauty of decay. I have used the Lenticular process to create a moving image within still photographs.
