# Project Description Thumbelina Tallulah Norman-Taylor Summary Final work Studying theatre design at Wimbledon College of Arts this coming September. Studying theatre design at Wimbledon College of Arts this coming September. College School of Pre-Degree Studies Course UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Graduation year 2025 Costume design for Hans Christian Andersen's 'Thumbelina', written in 1835. The story follows a young girl, no bigger than a thumb, through her treck through the forest, encountering different challenges as she goes. Designed for a theatre production, my piece is intended to be worn by an actress and to be seen by an adult audience due to the nudity of the piece. Made with metallic silk organza and wire, my piece is inspired by women's fashion in the 1830s; scoop necks, princess seams, puffed skirts. While also linking to the delicacy of a tulip flower through the materials light weight, translucent and reflective nature.
