College London College of Fashion

Course BA (Hons) Fashion Sportswear

Graduation year 2025

This series focuses on reimagining skydiving apparel from the perspective of a dedicated skydiving enthusiast. Traditional skydiving suits often lack diversity in design and are visually cluttered with excessive colors. My goal is to elevate the suit to match the excitement and technical demands of the sport. Drawing inspiration from punk fashion, I integrate its bold aesthetics with historical references to skydiving gear, creating a concept that is both visually striking and functionally innovative.

Final work

LOOK 1

This look continues the fusion of function and style, drawing inspiration from parachute suits. The top features lightweight textured fabric with adjustable drawstring details and a loose silhouette, echoing the wind-resistant and mobile qualities of jumpsuits. The bold purple backpack enhances utility while serving as a striking visual element. The exaggerated wide-leg pants with oversized pockets emphasize structure and storage, reflecting the practicality of parachute gear. Overall, the design balances futuristic aesthetics with streetwear energy, expressing a sense of freedom and unrestrained style.

LOOK 2

This second design was inspired by the shapes I imagine my clothing takes every time I descend through the air.

It’s not only a recreation of a personal memory after confronting gravity, but also an act of expression. The structural elements in the garment are meant to give those who have never skydived a glimpse into the intense physical sensations of floating, falling, and breaking through. The complex, adjustable drawstrings challenge the idea of control—they are more than functional. They’re a punk declaration: irregular, nonconforming, and full of tension.

The deep red fabric is rooted in my first skydiving experience—a moment where all I could see was red. That color burned into my memory. It felt like fear, but also like pure adrenaline. It was visceral, just like the pounding rhythm of punk music.

The harness elements echo the parachute pack, but they also represent a metaphor for the tension between control and freedom. Punk, at its core, is about resisting control—about expressing identity in spite of restraint.

This design grows from the memory of skydiving, but it draws power from punk. It doesn’t land gently—it crashes down, screaming through visual language:

Freedom isn’t given. It’s torn out of constraint.

LOOK 3

This third design is based on my personal experience. A jumpsuit needs to have as many pockets as possible without adding bulk. Therefore, the back pocket is designed to open freely for display, and it also features internal compartments. The collar uses a drawstring design, echoing the second design and providing a certain degree of wind protection. The two symmetrical 3D heavily-crafted pockets on the front enhance the garment's functionality while maintaining a punk aesthetic.
