Summer Lam

My project utilises mirrors to explore how photography can reflect an idea of nature. By capturing various fragmented views of landscapes reflected through mirrors of different sizes and shapes, I aim to offer viewers a new perspective on lived environments. Specifically, spaces like parks that are designated for experiencing plants and trees in the center of cities. The reflections depicted in the images provide a distorted glimpse of what could be seen to constitute the “nature” world, allowing viewers to see a familiar scene in an entirely new light. The intention of the work is to encourage viewers to have a deeper connection and appreciation of the world around us and by inviting them to embrace the beauty of these mirrored perspectives.
