Zgarda is a publication about traditions, rituals and the craft of Ukrainian culture. The aim is to share the culture that has been suppressed and banned for many years, developed under the influence of many civilisations, but still managed to preserve its identity and uniqueness. The publication features illustrations that depict rituals, symbols, and traditional crafts of Ukraine, each accompanied by descriptions. It is also complemented by handmade elements, such as an embroidered cover symbolising traditional Ukrainian embroidery, and paper-cut design that physically embody the craft. By sharing my culture with others, I want people to reflect on their own roots and heritage and the importance of keeping culture alive.
