The film tells the story of Y, an urban professional woman disciplined into being the “appropriate female.” Guided by a group of Drag Queens, she gradually breaks free from the socially imposed gender script through wigs, costumes, and stage performance, ultimately achieving identity reconstruction and the power to name herself.

Soft Armour
Soft Armour is not only a short fashion film, but also a visual experiment in exploring the intersections of Drag culture and female identity. Through the method of visual activism, the film attempts to provide contemporary Chinese women with a cinematic “escape route,” allowing them to discover and rename themselves in the space between gaze and performance.
