College London College of Fashion Course MA Fashion Entrepreneurship and Innovation Graduation year 2025 Ashen Revival is a brand that aims to design outfits for the video game industry, bringing fashion into digital worlds with a focus on social and environmental awareness. The gaming sector often lacks reflection on sustainability, despite its massive cultural influence. Through this project, I wanted to challenge that gap creating strong collaboration for meaningful design. To demonstrate this vision, I developed a 2D post-apocalyptic video game, featuring modular, patchwork-inspired outfits. Each piece carries a sustainable narrative, showing how ethical design can exist even within virtual spaces. Beyond the game, Ashen Revival introduces limited-edition physical garments, allowing players to match their avatar in the real world, creating a direct link between the avatar and the player. Final work Desert Sentinel This look combines sun-dried leather and insulating fur accents. The asymmetric design improves airflow and movement. Vertical stitching aids sweat drainage, making it perfect for patrolling across scorched landscapes. Highland Warrior A hybrid outfit made of reinforced leather and industrial-grade synthetic fur. Designed for mountain combat and harsh environments, the structured corset offers upper-body protection, while the fur trousers ensure warmth without restricting movement. Urban Scavenger Crafted from reclaimed leather scraps and upcycled faux fur, this lightweight set is designed for agility and speed. Asymmetrical paneling and visible stitching show resourceful patchwork construction. Bone buckles and elastic inserts enhance flexibility during fast-paced missions. Highland warriors The two models are wearing the Desert Sentinel and Highland Warrior looks! The outfits are asymmetrical made of leather-like materials with lace-up details and cut-outs. One model, in the foreground, wears a dark outfit with fur accents, while the other, slightly behind, wears a brown version of the design. Research and process Ashen Revival 2D videogame The 2D video game Ashen Revival was developed primarily as a conceptual project, rather than a technical or commercial one. Its main purpose is to demonstrate how sustainable ideas can be integrated into digital spaces, particularly within the gaming industry, without compromising gameplay. The game was designed as a platform to experiment with sustainable design systems, materials, and modular thinking. Players take on the role of an avatar who collects discarded garments and fabric scraps scattered across different environments. Through crafting mechanics, these materials are combined to create new, sustainable outfits. Within the inventory, players can view the garments they have crafted, each accompanied by a sustainable description and concept. The intention was to explore how fashion design could exist meaningfully inside a video game, transforming clothing from a visual accessory into a narrative and educational element. Although minimal in form, the game acts as a proof of concept, showing how sustainability and creativity can merge into existing gameplay systems, offering a fresh perspective on what in-game fashion can represent.
