In response to the increasing distraction caused by modern electronics and media during mealtimes - resulting in a weakened emotional connection to food, weakened social bonds, and less engagement with the meal - Dining Melody offers the possibility of an innovative dining experience that combines musical performance and food.

Dining Melody is a set of ceramic instrumental tableware consisting of an Ocarina Bowl, Scrape-edge Bowl, and Drum Bowl, in which the food affects a change in pitch, allowing people to play music at different frequencies, either solo or in ensembles. The tableware is designed to stimulate the senses, enhance the presence of the food and promote fun and social interactions for people who are less engaged at mealtimes. By transforming dining from a passive, mechanical routine to an active, conscious experience. The tableware also contributes to the revival of table-centred social connections and the new development of food culture.
