SCREAM

Summary

Final work

I study Fashion Communication on the Foundation course. My work has shifted from exploring culture and community through identity to using form, absurdity, and horror to question identity itself. With a fine art background, I’ve become drawn to photography and art direction. I’ll be studying Anthropology at UCL and am excited to continue exploring people in society and challenging how we view the world.

SCREAM is a study in shadow and self, this project unearths the horror of becoming one’s own monster. Through film, photography, textiles and hand-drawn animation, I conjure a surreal, liminal world where the Black female form haunts and is haunted. Inspired by retro horror, silhouettes and glitches, the work reframes fear as internal: shapeshifting, inherited, intimate. Here, the doppelgänger is not a stranger, but a mirror—where beauty and monstrosity flicker in and out of frame.
