Graduation year 2025

To explore the idea of 'unfurling', I started with plants; trying to capture their motion in publications and stop motions. I investigated the scientific reasons why and how plants unfurl, as well as experimenting with more abstract means.

I moved on to exploring people's relationship with motion. From observing people travelling to being restricted, I created wings to serve as metaphorica helpers for them to unfurl with. My final outcome; a short film, has an advert style to promote the idea of people reconnecting with nature.

You Should Try Unfurling

Short film: shot in the style of an advert to try and promote being in nature.

I was unable to upload to this portfolio however so I have had to assemble some stills

Unfurling Fern Flip Book

Interactive flip book: which showcases the motion of a fern unfurling at different stages.

Watch Me Unfurl

Made from prints and cutouts I had used to create a stop motion. I wanted to make this flip book as well as I thought it would be more suited to an audience than the flashing images the video had contained.
