‘The Order Around Me’ is a project that celebrates the invisible order of urban life, inspired by the artist’s daily journeys on the London Underground. The work began when I observed fellow commuters “getting off before getting on” and “standing on the left and walking on the right when using lifts,” small rituals that hinted at a hidden choreography of the city.

Motivated by these patterns, I photographed the walls, railings, and light trails inside the underground stations on my commute, and captured the exterior of the Barbican Art Centre I visit frequently, where the repetitive arrangement of windows and door frames offered a rich source of imagery. Using filters, I pixelated, collaged, and overlaid these photographs, extracting a visual language drawn directly from her personal life experience.

Pushing the plain work into three dimensions, I turned to origami techniques, folding and shaping plain fabric into three-dimensional structures. The resulting textile pieces map the everyday background and inner trajectories I perceive, ultimately exploring how urban public order intersects with my own individual rhythms of life.
