This project explores form, function, and materiality through the lens of vernacular architecture and simplicity. It reimagines the abandoned “Chorsu” Hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan integrating the design with its environment. Inspired by its original structure, it fuses traditional and cultural elements through sustainable strategies and green architecture. Wood and cardboard evoke the essence of rammed earth, emphasizing natural materiality. An open rooftop garden introduces biophilic design, softening the modern brutalist form and reinforcing the relationship between nature, heritage, and contemporary architectural expression.
