This project investigates the architectural tension between lightness and heaviness, exploring how structures can appear to float while grounded in complex engineering. Inspired by Zaha Hadid’s Bridge Pavilion, where fluidity conceals structural depth, I designed modular housing suspended within a bridging frame over Regent’s Canal. The canal becomes both boundary and support, reimagined as infrastructure and home. Through research into sculpture, textiles, and architecture, I developed a form that balances solidity and transparency. Using wood, acrylic, and tape, the project invites reflection on how we occupy transitional spaces, offering sustainable, elevated living that redefines connection, weight, and presence.
