time stands still
reviving our roots, restoring our earth
Time Stands Still is a design project that reconnects humanity with the natural world by honoring the sacred relationships between land, water, and forest. Rooted in Tamil culture and inspired by Aasai— a quiet longing for harmony with nature— the project invites reflection and renewal through immersive, sensory spaces.
At its heart are two spaces: Sanctuary and Manam. Sanctuary is a tactile journey through forest paths and sacred soil, where every step becomes an act of care and remembrance. Manam offers stillness, with a reflective waterbody that mirrors both the sky and the visitor’s inner landscape, inviting moments of clarity and introspection.
Through this project, the land’s memories are not only preserved— they are brought back to life. The trees, the lakes, the soil—they all remember, and now, so will we.
The earth is held by love. And in that love, we find our way home.
Research and process
the earth is held by love
To walk these paths, to feel the soil beneath our feet, to pause by the water’s edge—these are acts of remembering, of belonging. Here, we find ourselves woven into the fabric of the earth, bound by the same breath that moves through the forest, the water, the soil.
In this stillness, we rediscover our place within the world—a place of balance, of care, of quiet reverence. And in this moment, we come to understand: we are not separate from this land. We are its memory, its guardians, and its future.
The earth is held by love. And in that love, we find our way home.
