Rush Riot: Outta Here

Sabin Kang

Summary

Final work

Sabin Kang (Sabs) is a fashion designer originally from Seoul and currently based in London. Rooted in a design philosophy centred on functionality and movement, her work draws inspiration from everyday life. Through intricate pattern construction and the layering of diverse technical fabrics, she creates garments that are both practical and expressive. By balancing comfort, purpose, and the relationship between clothing and the body, she proposes a new approach to life-enhancing, functional wear.

Rush Riot: Outta Here is my response to the quiet pressure of office-bound city life. The collection reflects the urge to escape—using running as both metaphor and method. I drew from the structures of urban life and contrasted them with the freedom of movement.

With ventilation, stretch, and comfort at its core, each piece is made to support motion—both physical and emotional. It’s about breaking routine, moving through the noise, and finding freedom in the everyday.

Final work

Escaping the office grind

This look explores the tension between corporate routine and the body's urge to break free.

Tailored with stretch fabrics that respond to motion, the outfit is designed for dynamic movement while retaining the structure of formalwear. The clean lines and sculpted panels disrupt the expectation of a stiff office silhouette, transforming it into a form built for motion and urgency.

With visual cues like flying paper and mid-air posture, the look captures a moment of resistance — as if the body refuses stillness. This is officewear reimagined as a tool for escape.

In transit between control and freedom

This look reimagines the classic tracksuit as a uniform for those stuck in transition.

The ensemble combines the comfort of activewear with tailored visual codes — designed to move freely within systems that don’t. Crafted from stretch-woven panels and cut for ease, the silhouette moves between urgency and nonchalance.

The camera angle reinforces the body’s momentum from below, reminding us that elevation isn’t always about escape — sometimes it’s just about staying in motion.

A break from control

This look captures the final surge — the threshold of release.

A fusion of a running vest and a functional outer shell, the silhouette is built for speed, not ceremony. Stretch-woven trousers and layered technical elements enhance movement, enabling a seamless transition from confinement to action.

Photographed mid-sprint through a doorway, the moment holds both focus and defiance — a reminder that liberation isn’t just motion, but intention.

Research and process

Mood and Concept Board

In an age where daily routines collapse into desk-bound hours and digital fatigue,

this collection reimagines clothing as a form of escape — a technical, body-conscious rebellion against confinement.

SABS investigates how garments can enable freedom through movement, fusing function with emotional resistance.

Inspired by the claustrophobia of office culture and surveillance-heavy cities,

this concept explores the desire to move — to break free.

Concrete architecture, blocked schedules, and transit noise all bleed into the textures and tension of the garments.
