Course BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Embroidery

Graduation year 2025

Experiencing a life of bouncing between home and London, l often compare myself to a migratory bird. Based on this idea, I started by looking into the elements that shape my daily life and combining them in various ways, aiming to build a “nest” not just for myself, but for anyone who shares this same in-between experience. The drawing and design inspirations are mainly from close observation of my surroundings — city parks and many indoor spaces like grocery stores and my flat. Guided by thorough research and personal interpretation , this collection is a culmination of the technical and conceptual skills I have learned and developed

The making process is a mixture of digital embroidery and hand-crafted fabric manipulation. From layering threads to make own fabric base to weaving embroidered stripes, this project explores many possibilities for weaving and showcases an in-depth understanding of textiles construction. New materials such as elastic bobbin and hand processes like smocking and pleating are also explored in this project, aiming to create flowy fabrics that would move with the body.

Targeted towards the high-end ready-to-wear market, this collection embraces the comeback of Boho chic style, with a colour palette blending earthy neutrals with bursts of bright, vibrant colors to reflect individuality and freedom.
