My project begins with a personal connection to wood, rooted in the story of my carpenter grandfather and my own practice of archery. Through wooden furniture, tools, and my experience of repairing furniture and synchronizing breath with the bow, I explore a family ethnography shaped by heritage, identity, and Zen-like harmony. Building on the wapping idea from my previous project, I reinterpret traditional dressing structures, blending craftsmanship with innovation to create garments that embody balance, ritual, and quiet strength—an homage to both ancestry and contemporary expression.

“楔 ” whisper of the wood project movie
This fashion film showcases the garments through a humorous and surreal office setting. Styled like surveillance footage, it begins with a tense office meeting where workers argue around a table. The gray, corporate atmosphere is suddenly disrupted as one worker slips into a vivid fantasy.
In this imagined world, their alter ego appears in a bold, avant-garde outfit designed by the filmmaker. The setting becomes abstract and theatrical, with exaggerated movements and playful actions. Characters shift between reality and imagination, with sharp contrasts in costume, lighting, and behavior. The garments reflect a blend of structure and whimsy, embodying both tension and creative freedom.
There is no spoken dialogue. The story is told visually, supported by quirky, upbeat music.
