# Project Description Academic Confessions Roslan R Summary Final work My painting practice is an ongoing exploration of the human psyche and condition, investigating the tension between the mind’s inner workings, thoughts, emotions, memories, and the complexities of the broader human experience. I’m drawn to the space where personal narratives intersect with collective histories, revealing how individual identity is shaped by larger, shared realities. Ultimately, my work seeks to inhabit the threshold between the presence and absence of self. My influences range from visceral realism, expressionism, and surrealism to contemporary practices and artists who disrupt something, anything, and who embrace ambiguity and resist resolution. College Chelsea College of Arts Course Graduate Diploma Fine Art Graduation year 2025 This series of paintings operates within a visual language that shifts between figuration, disfiguration, symbolism, and surrealism. These modes do not end in themselves but are tools to explore and give form to the structures and content of thought. At times, I am fully present in the work, driving it with intention. At other times, I take a back seat, as if I am merely observing and allowing the work to unfold on its own terms. These shifting positions enable both me and the work to move fluidly between confrontation and contemplation, between the presence and absence, between the intricacies of the human psyche and the vastness of the human condition.
