# Project Description La Valse des Statues Rosalie Mamo Summary Final work I am Rosalie Mamo, a multimedia storyteller. Escaping the folly of great waltzing sculptures, Discovering a passage through these great illusions. Final work La valse des statues A girl, a crow and a panther explore a mysterious manor. They follow the sound of enchanting music, leading them to a ballroom filled with tall statues. These great figures come to life and start waltzing to the music. An intriguing but also hazardous destiny draws itself when the crow flies away, while the girl and the panther chase it through the dancing statues. This short film is an homage to all of the old multimedia animated fairy tales I was brought up with. I was always fascinated by textures, poetry and mystery which could become intriguing and sometimes frightful. I added grain to the film to play with textures and the vintage feeling.This film is a voyage through life, from one door to another, a time with different obstacles but also new positive encounters, danger and hope. Ambition leading us, our own fear following and the strength of family, friends, teachers, pushing us to overcome what we couldn’t face alone. This project blends pencil and digital drawings, enhancing the contrast between the eerie ambiance of the textured backgrounds, portraying the manor as hostile and crowded, and the more soft characters, seemingly not belonging to it. This short film also touches the following subjects: feelings of loneliness, being different and going through passages in life that feel more challenging.
