Rata Bellucci is a middle-aged woman who faces death behind a mask. After a lifetime of trying to meet the standards and expectations imposed both by herself and others, she realizes it has all been in vain. Now, she regrets not asking herself the right questions when she was young. On the outside, she is still alive—but inside, she feels completely dead.
This narrative is inspired by the study of El Cante Jondo, the poetry collection written by Federico García Lorca, and the first Cante Jondo festival, held in Granada in 1922—an ode to love, sorrow, and the cry of loss.
