# Project Description The Worshipful Company of Computer-Aided-Designers Richard Farbey Summary Final work Awards Nominated | Future 50 2024 My final collection was developed as a response to the growing influence of computer-aided-design within contemporary jewellery manufacture. It is also a self-analysis of my place within the industry. My final collection was developed as a response to the growing influence of computer-aided-... College Central Saint Martins Course BA (Hons) Jewellery Design Graduation year 2023 Richard’s collection emphasises the value of workbench skills in the jewellery industry. The multidisciplinary knowledge of manufacturing and design is embodied in the narrative, with Hatton Garden and the often-overlooked craftsman at its centre. His fine jewellery plays with the duality between CAD and craft, evidenced using different materials such as gold and silver to differentiate the two. Rather than demonise computer-aided production, Richard ironically includes Rhino 3D in his collection both figuratively and literally, keeping in mind the figure of the hidden artisan. The result is a balanced fusion of both worlds.
