# Project Description Post-Solar Myth Rhysen Li Summary Final work College Central Saint Martins Course MA Fine Art Graduation year 2025 The protagonists of traditional myths are mostly gods or humans. In this work, I attempted to replace the protagonists of traditional myths with robots or cyborgs. I aimed to explore a new mythology centered around non-human entities. The story I chose, Hou Yi shooting the sun, originally embodied an ancient relationship between humans and the natural environment. When I replace the protagonist with a robot or a cyborg, the meaning of the "sun" changes. It can symbolize new technology, or it can represent the image of humanity as the original creator. In this case, the cyborg Hou Yi becomes an existence that attempts to surpass its own creator. When the cyborg shoots down the suns, perhaps it does not represent destruction, but rather a rebellion against technology itself, the right to reshape the world, cognitive evolution, or a process of constructing its own identity.
