This project explores the reinterpretation of corsetry's evolution from the 1870s to the 1970s, focusing on its complex history as a symbol of restriction and later as a tool for rebellion. By exploring the cultural shift in the connotations of corsetry, I challenge traditional perceptions of beauty and identity, intending to capture the powerful means of defiance and rebellion that the corset has become.

Through the combination of historical corsetry techniques and contemporary rebellion influences, the collection embraces the art of traditional tailoring, complex structure, unconventional silhouettes and punk accents. While reimagining its contemporary symbol of rebellion, power and autonomy.

Designing for the fearless and iconic Grace Jones allows for a bold and powerful approach. Her androgynous style, boundary-breaking personality and disruptive presence within both fashion and music industries create a powerful narrative to explore fashion's role in personal expression. This collection will stand as a statement of self-definition, strength and unapologetic individuality.
