This project uses an e-zine as a creative invitation for Gen Z in China’s top-tier cities to explore and express their voices through remix culture, including bootlegs, cultural borrowing, and visual sampling. Instead of simply showcasing these practices, the zine applies them as creative processes to create the zine while challenging traditional ideas of originality and highlighting remixing as a valid and empowering way to express personal identity. It invites readers to engage, reflect, and create, shifting from passive observers to active creators, and encourages them to express personal narratives through visual language.
