This project explores gathering as a structural system rather than a decorative detail in garment design. Through experiments with geometry, pattern cutting, and material behaviour, gathering is used to generate form, volume, and spatial structure. The research combines digital simulation with physical sampling to examine how different fabrics, gathering directions, and densities affect silhouette, tension, and movement on the body. By focusing on the relationship between structure, material, and the body, the project proposes a design method where gathering becomes an active tool for shaping garments and creating dynamic forms.
