# Project Description Flying Qi Shen Summary Final work BA Fashion Pattern Cutting BA Fashion Pattern Cutting College London College of Fashion Course BA (Hons) Fashion Pattern Cutting Graduation year 2025 The inspiration for the entire project comes from flying in the air. The experience of weightlessness, acceleration and soaring into the clouds in paragliding has enabled human flight experience to break the control over the geographical environment and inner self from ancient times to the present. The human group's yearning for a free sense of body is an inescapable self-destiny. In conclusion, this topic aims to take different perspectives of flight in the air as entry points, and use paragliding, birds, paper planes and kites as scattered research points to consider the characteristics of flying "creatures" and "objects", and explore the possibility and innovation of the combination of their structures and clothing. First, I investigated the paraglider. Its overall retractable structure is composed of many ropes, and the pilot needs to control the flight direction by pulling the ropes. For this, I used the element of drawing ropes in the clothing to simulate the process of controlling the flight direction.Secondly, when humans study flight, they often draw on biological forms for simulation, such as the form of birds. So I investigated the flight patterns and movement trajectories of birds, which brought me inspiration in terms of silhouettes and expanded my thinking.Thirdly, kites have a history of over 2,000 years and are the earliest flying devices of mankind. Kites are supported by skeletons of different sizes. In the clothing, fish bones are used as filling materials to support the silhouette. The last point is that through the folding principle and model of the origami airplane, one can understand the principle of flight more intuitively. The structural design takes this as the starting point. Final work Share this project The inspiration for the entire project comes from flying in the air.
