This piece explores the concept and superstition surrounding Corpse roads, ancient medieval paths used to transport the dead to their final resting place. These forgotten routes exist in the margins between worlds, where the boundaries of life and death, memory and myth, begin to blur.
Drawing on themes of nature, mortality, and the unseen, this piece reflects on the relationships of how landscapes carry echoes of those who have passed through them and the history they hold. Inviting viewers to consider the liminal: the spaces we overlook, the stories we inherit, and the thin veil that separates the living from the lost.
Final work
Close up of lantern
Demonstration of the piece with the lantern lit from within with a blue light.
The Lanterns Path
As this pice was designed to double as a performance piece I am here demonstrating how it would be removed and reinserted into the base and demonstrate carrying it around a space.
